Chapter Seventeen
Logan
I don’t know how long we sit in the bathtub for, but soon the water is cold, and our fingers are wrinkled. I step out of the tub first, and Megan’s eyes roam over my body, licking her lips when she stares at my cock. It jerks from the attention, and she giggles.
“You keep looking at me like that, and you’re going to get more than you bargained for,” I wink, helping her out of the clawfoot tub and wrap a towel around her, kissing her cute button nose.
“I’m already in for more than I bargained for,” she teases, and I pull her by the ends of the towel, giving her a quick kiss.
Wrapping my arms around her, I place her head under my chin and hold her there for a minute. “You know everything is going to be okay, right? With us, with the baby, with your father.”
“My father!”
She jumps back from me, pressing her hand against her head. “Oh my god, I’m so selfish. How can I be here with you when my father is in the hospital?”
Megan runs to the living room, and I follow close behind. She rummages through her purse and grabs her cell phone. “Damn it.” She slams it on the counter. “It’s dead. I can’t believe myself. I’m such a horrible daughter.”
“You aren’t horrible.” I take a step toward her, but she holds out her arms to stop me.
“I just need some time to think. I lose myself with you. I forgot about my father.” Her bottom lip trembles. “I can’t do this with you if it means forgetting him.”
“You didn’t forget him.” I rush to her and wrap my arms around her. She tenses up for a moment but lets her guard down. Lets me in. “I’ve been keeping track of your father’s progress. Kian has been messaging me every hour. He just had breakfast with your mom. Your dad is fine. He’s still in a coma. You can’t wait around for him to wake up, baby. You could be waiting forever, and that isn’t healthy.”
I lift her chin so she can see the look in my eyes. “You didn’t forget him. You just did something for yourself, but you could never forget him. You’ve been by his side since day one. We can go see him today.”
She sniffles, and then her brows pinch together, causing a cute wrinkle between her brows that make me want to reach up and rub it away.
“Why is Kian with my mom?”
“He wanted to get her out of the room. Apparently, your mom is telling stories about you when you were little. I’m kind of jealous.”
“Oh no,” she groans, hitting her forehead against my chest. “We need to save Kian from that.”
“No way. He is enjoying himself.” My phone dings on the counter. I pick it up to see I have a message from Kian. “Speaking of the devil,” I chuckle, sliding the message icon to open it. “Look, they are even taking selfies.”
“You have got to be kidding me.
